External Affairs Minister SM Krishna’s asset declaration claims only Rs 22 Lakhs (savings worth Rs 12 Lakhs).
In 2009, he stayed at the Maurya for 3 months – in the Presidential Suite. And apparently paid for it with his own money. Even at a grossly underestimated Rs 25K a night, it will amount to Rs. 22.5 Lakhs. Would someone with a measly Rs 12L in savings, spend that much on a hotel? If the rate was negotiated down to match his measly savings, then clearly the hotel is doing him a favor, easily calculable in monetary terms. How do these contradictory claims square up?
